WordPress Template Tags Quick Reference Sheet

Updated Wednesday, August 4, 2010. For this version and all future versions, I’ve decided to no longer include the older deprecated WordPress Template Tags from the WordPress Template Tags Quick Reference Sheet. They aren’t to be used any longer and take up a fair amount of room on the sheet, which is meant to be printed out for quick reference purposes. It has become difficult to make it all fit into one 11×17 inch printed reference sheet. I personally think they just get in the way and are a distraction, anyway. Also, I will no longer be including the information about what version a certain template tag was added to WordPress, unless it is brand new and people might not be aware of it yet, such as the ones that were added recently with WordPress Version 3.0+.

When I started playing around with theming in WordPress a couple of years ago I immediately noticed a personal need for a printed-out quick reference card for WordPress template tags. I looked around but didn’t see one right away so I just decided to make one based on the information at the WordPress Template Tags page. I made it for myself but I figured that this is something of convenience that a lot of other people could use so I made it into a Word document format as well as a PDF format file and it’s available for you here. In order to put everything on one printed page and still be legible I made the document a standard 11×17 inch print size format. Naturally, WordPress is in a constant state of development and extension and I will try to keep the documents updated as best I can.
