The story of the actual party is for anyone brave enough to tell it. This came later: It’s probably about four in the morning and I’m sitting at the bar in The Artisan Hotel off the Strip in Las Vegas with a self-proclaimed stripper and some guy that I just met a few hours ago. The girl says, “Seriously, my tits are fake. Look – you can see the scars.” She pulls herself almost completely out of her top to show me. The guy is on a mission to acquire some girl for what’s left of the night and the girl that I’m talking to doesn’t seem to be his flavor. She’s not my flavor either, but even if I did have plans to capture her, I wouldn’t feel comfortable ...

Since it opened, I’ve somehow managed to not go to a show at The Pearl, the live concert venue at The Palms. I’ve heard so much about how there aren’t really any bad seats in the house, as the layout makes the most of its relatively small size. Okay, you can see well from pretty much anywhere, sure, but you won’t be enjoying the view in comfort, let’s put it that way. I understand that they had to make the most of the space they had to work with, but I was left wondering if the seats were designed by Japanese ...

The World Series of Poker’s Main Event – the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold’em Tournament that bears the title of World Champion – kicks off today with the first of four “Day One’s.” There are so many players in this monster of a tournament nowadays that they simply can not hope to fit them all into one space on the same day so they just break it down into multiple first days. A tournament this huge generates a lot of stress and strain and just making it through the first day is a huge accomplishment unto itself. With that in mind, Dorothy Kamaka, Las Vegas local poker player, card dealer, and all-around sweetheart, has put together – along with a little help from her friends – an event to ...

REJOICE! Okay, maybe we won’t rejoice, but seriously, the Star Trek: The Experience attraction at the Las Vegas Hilton is one of the few remaining un-niceties at the venerable old hotel and just doesn’t fit (and never did.) They have been working pretty diligently to restore some luster and reinvigorate the property for the last few years, and when you walk into a Hilton, you just don’t expect to see uber-nerd cheese as part of the whole ambience – it was killing the vibe they are working on reclaiming. Now I am not saying that I don’t like Star Trek. In fact, I used to watch The Next Generation regularly when I was younger and it was in early syndication, sometimes seeing the same episodes multiple times. I love the ...
