The story of the actual party is for anyone brave enough to tell it. This came later:

It’s probably about four in the morning and I’m sitting at the bar in The Artisan Hotel off the Strip in Las Vegas with a self-proclaimed stripper and some guy that I just met a few hours ago. The girl says, “Seriously, my tits are fake. Look – you can see the scars.” She pulls herself almost completely out of her top to show me. The guy is on a mission to acquire some girl for what’s left of the night and the girl that I’m talking to doesn’t seem to be his flavor.

Since it opened, I’ve somehow managed to not go to a show at The Pearl, the live concert venue at The Palms. I’ve heard so much about how there aren’t really any bad seats in the house, as the layout makes the most of its relatively small size. After tonight’s show featuring one of my favorite comedians, Eddie Izzard, I have to say that I can’t imagine that there are any really good seats in the house.

Whatever Shall We Do? (Without Star Trek at the Hilton)

REJOICE! Okay, maybe we won’t rejoice, but seriously, the Star Trek: The Experience attraction at the Las Vegas Hilton is one of the few remaining un-niceties at the venerable old hotel and just doesn’t fit (and never did.) They have been working pretty diligently to restore some luster and reinvigorate the property for the last few years, and when you walk into a Hilton, you just don’t expect to see uber-nerd cheese as part of the whole ambience – it was killing the vibe they are working on reclaiming.
