I realize that vengeance is not a emotional drive one should attempt to exude upon inanimate objects. Okay, well, this object isn’t 100% completely inanimate to start with, and to be honest, I think it might have developed enough artificial intelligence to make this battle, nay, war, personal.

I eat my last meal of the day at odd hours. Sometimes midnightish, sometimes 3 or 4am… Las Vegas has tons and tons of restaurants but the good ones tend to close by 11pm or so, maybe midnight on the weekends. One place that I enjoy eating at fairly regularly is Grand Luxe Cafe, which is inside the Venetian.

Stealing Rich Men’s Shrimp at The Palms

The changes at The Palms Hotel and Casino, with the exception of the new condominium tower, are now complete. The last change in the process was the completion and opening of The Pearl on Saturday night, featuring a live performance by Gwen Stefani and appearances by a number of celebrities.

We’d promised some photos from the red carpet at the event. Unfortunately, the red carpet at this event was a staged area inside of the ballroom next to The Pearl and since we didn’t know that ahead of time we hadn’t requested proper press credentials, alas.

There’s almost nothing as mind-numbing and seemingly time-wasting as hitting the gym in your complex to go play hamster-on-a-wheel for an hour trying to burn a few extra calories, not to me at least. My brain has a marvelous way of getting hyper-bored in blazingly fast fashion and the distractions seem limitless. I think about everything I haven’t done that day, what’s on television, where I’d rather be, who I’d rather be with, and, probably what I want for dinner. It’s just not really conducive to the task at hand. I can’t take the monotony.

My friend Christopher Nolan has said some funny stuff about Michael Jackson in the past, what with all of his seemingly out-of-this-world ideas, eccentricities, et cetera (to say nothing about allowing himself to be too close to scandals and people taking pop-shots at him because he’s an easy target.)
