Tallest Building in United States in Las Vegas?

It’s been a couple of years now since I heard the early rumors of a very, very tall building project for Las Vegas being proposed by an Australian billionaire developer. It was being talked about around the same time that Ivana Trump announced her super-tall building on the property at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara. In fact, it was at a time when it seemed like all you heard on the news was the latest and greatest imaginings of super-wealthy developers for Las Vegas and the impending “Manhattanization” of our fair city.

The Roller Coaster Ride That Wouldn’t End

Apparently early this evening riders on the Sahara’s Speed: The Ride roller coaster got a little more than they bargained for. Ladder firetrucks had to be called out to the Sahara Hotel and Casino to get sixteen people off of the ride that were stuck in the coaster cars just before the big loop.

The riders all said that the ride slowed down before the loop and moved backwards until it came to rest where they were rescued.

Last Night at Revolution Lounge

Last night my buddy Alex who is on staff over at Revolution Lounge called me doing some new promotions for the club and asked us to come out. We went in about 12:30 and it was pretty slow for a Wednesday, but this has been a bit of a strange week as far as traffic goes.

The place is neat-o. The entry way is a series of three dimensional letters that say, well, “Revolution.” You just walk right through the letters like you’re on Zoom from PBS back in the day. Very interesting entrance, this one, and I always appreciate things like that because it sets a vibe for the rest of the night (this is one big reason why bouncers with attitudes and unbelievably long lines make for sucky nights when clubbing.)

My friend Christopher Nolan has said some funny stuff about Michael Jackson in the past, what with all of his seemingly out-of-this-world ideas, eccentricities, et cetera (to say nothing about allowing himself to be too close to scandals and people taking pop-shots at him because he’s an easy target.)
