It’s a little after nine o’clock in the morning and for the past forty-five minutes I’ve been driving back and forth from the MGM Signature towers to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center as fast as the passengers and the traffic will allow. It’s not the most desirable fare, but today I happen to be restricted. (Restricted cabs are prohibited from picking up rides Downtown, on the Strip, or at McCarran International Airport.)

www.WhileLasVegasSleeps.com is a Featured Speaker at BlogWorld Expo 2007 ExpoThe BlogWorld and New Media Expo is coming to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks. As fate would have it, Amy Gahran of Contentious.com found my blog, and she has asked me to sit on a panel at the conference and talk about blogging ethics.

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the changing way that media and information is delivered in the 21st century and about blogging, in particular, so I’m really excited to share my opinions with the panel.

Guest Column: Nick the Cabbie, Las Vegas’ Coolest Cab Pilot

That’s right. Pilot. He thinks “driving a cab” just doesn’t sound quite right so he looks at it as being a pilot. I kinda like that. Not only is he probably the best driver I know (and a great personal friend,) he’s available for his drunken, debauched friends when in need of a lift from Rehab or various other clubs around Las Vegas! That’s right…. Our personal, Las Vegas driver, VIP style. Okay, well as VIP as you can be in a taxicab :P

Whoops! There Goes My Skirt!

Every Spring, just like every other town, Las Vegas gets some changing weather patterns. Sometimes in March, usually in April, things shift and it warms up slightly, and it just gets really nice. Somewhere in that whole process the wind changes direction and starts blowing. It doesn’t get breezy, it gets nuts.
