LAX Las VegasHaving been open for well over a month, last night I finally ventured out with my friend Christopher Nolan to LAX to take a look around Las Vegas’ newest superclub. I’ve heard good things, but I’ve been really busy as of late, and in general I tend to avoid club openings and the celebrity worshipping madness that takes place around such things. Most importantly, though, I really just enjoy partying at a club once it has a real solid weekly night of good music and dancing and has some recognizable faces in the crowd. Gwen Stefani Opens The Pearl

The Maloofs know how to work it. One of biggest features of the recently expanded Palms Hotel and Casino is their live music venue they are calling “The Pearl.” Not a reference to the mysterious hatch in Lost, The Pearl is said to be – nay, hyped to be – one of the best places to experience live performances of music anywhere… ever.

From the photographs, The Pearl definitely looks like a great venue with some very unique, very special features.

Last Night at Revolution Lounge

Last night my buddy Alex who is on staff over at Revolution Lounge called me doing some new promotions for the club and asked us to come out. We went in about 12:30 and it was pretty slow for a Wednesday, but this has been a bit of a strange week as far as traffic goes.

The place is neat-o. The entry way is a series of three dimensional letters that say, well, “Revolution.” You just walk right through the letters like you’re on Zoom from PBS back in the day. Very interesting entrance, this one, and I always appreciate things like that because it sets a vibe for the rest of the night (this is one big reason why bouncers with attitudes and unbelievably long lines make for sucky nights when clubbing.)
