There are much better clubs in Las Vegas than LAX. The club layout is very simple, boring, and gets old quick. This place is full of narrow walkways and there's really no space for anything. Bouncers bounce you around the place since you can barely stop anywhere to take in the environment. I also tried the VIP service there and they were very unprofessional. I argued with a bouncer for half an hour about how I could go in to the VIP area with my group but only the women were allowed to drink. He then said he doesn't really have to let me in to begin with. After much long, drawn out drama he said to have fun and do whatever we want. Everything put together just easily killed the mood. Both of my visits there were terrible. If you want a good club to go to I highly recommend Tao. Don't even bother with LAX!

That is beyond BS. Nevada can't even get its crap straight. One year they "lost" my wife in the computer system and failed to send out a registration renewal on her car. So it expired and of course, OUR FAULT that we didn't notice. IF NEVADA wants to play it that way, they should provide you with a local court date if you want to dispute the ticket since they are helping to push you to settle it with your checkbook.

I honestly didn't know it had changed owners? From what I understand they have expanded considerably since their beginning, with dining rooms and such. The outdoor part by the water is sweeeet

Makino is about my favorite all-you-can-east sushi buffet in Vegas, and I agree with some of the comments that it is different from ordering at a regular sushi restaurant. But then so is the price! What I like most is that I can take friends that don't like sushi and they rave over the cooked stuff and the salads, not to mention the desserts and the infamous chocolate fountain! This is clearly not your typical buffet, sushi or otherwise.

The service is usually pretty good, and very friendly as well. It's also very family-friendly, and kids under 12 and 4 feet high can eat for free any time. Definitely worth considering for a family outing!

Since so many properties are now being de-themed ( Luxor, TI, Allidan is now Planet Hollywood ) and Venetian will gradually be seen as a power cousin to Pallazo, you're right about the absurdity of recreating a loved New York landmark in a way overgrown, larger than life multi-towered monstosity that is supposed to evoked the original Plaza Hotel.

I was kind of pleased to read that Vegas Plaza project is rumored to be in jeapardy. They need to come up with something else. The original Beaux-Arts design of The Plaza New York was supposed to be balanced, symmetrical, formal city design to bring order to the chaos of 19th century cities. The other projects like City Center are more like a 20th century urban design that promotes crowds and conjestion as long as the buildings relate to each other in interesting ways. The Plaza Las Vegas took the original hotel design and just morped it into a scewed it into a multi-tower mess.

Amazing how people some seem to think there are no schools or houses in the southwest.

LMAO..it's dangerous to turn right but not left...

It sickens me to see taxpayer money wasted to protect the rich. I belive the figure is around $400,000 dollars so far.

[...] It is interesting how close we live to the line between freedom and….tyranny? That seems to be a harsh word, but what else do you call it? Cops have a ton of power in this country and while most use it for good, some are just a-holes with a badge. Like this nice fellow encountered by a blogger down in Vegas.
Oh my fucking god. I swear not more than 10 minutes after I posted this article we had yet another cop follow us around, turn behind us... intimidating us and making us feel harassed. He followed until he felt like a big, tough guy, I guess, then flipped a bitch in the middle of the road and went the other way. This is insane and pissing me off. This is not the way things are meant to be in America.
