There’s almost nothing as mind-numbing and seemingly time-wasting as hitting the gym in your complex to go play hamster-on-a-wheel for an hour trying to burn a few extra calories, not to me at least. My brain has a marvelous way of getting hyper-bored in blazingly fast fashion and the distractions seem limitless. I think about everything I haven’t done that day, what’s on television, where I’d rather be, who I’d rather be with, and, probably what I want for dinner. It’s just not really conducive to the task at hand. I can’t take the monotony.

Las Vegas Grand Prix

The last couple of nights people have started arriving in town for The Las Vegas Grand Prix. This is exactly the kind of thing that is great for Las Vegas. Special events with a special brand of customer coming into town for a unique event that’s a first. Las Vegas’ downtown will definitely benefit from the exposure and the renovations and changes that are taking place, and the Golden Nugget in particular, will get a premier event to showcase the new look. Whether you love him or hate, Oscar Goodman is great for this town and this is a great example of the kinds of things that were not taking place before he went into office.

NBA All-Star Game Weekend in Las Vegas

The proverbial stops have been pulled. This might be the most decked-out I’ve seen Las Vegas since I moved here a little over three years ago. There are special bus wraps regarding the All-Star Game, many buildings have reprographic wraps on them, including, but not limited to Mandalay Bay, the Luxor, and MGM. The Lion in front of MGM and the Statue of Liberty in front of New York, New York are even wearing two-story tall East and West basketball jerseys.

Las Vegas Casino BASE Jumping

So my friend, whose name shall be – for the purposes of this particular story – Mister N – relayed this tale to me regarding Thursday night two weeks ago and his experience hanging out with some people that were in Las Vegas partying for a few days. The delay on the story, which I originally heard the next day, was because I had to get a few details verified before I published the article and wanted to make sure I had the story straight. Mister N is a good friend of mine and he had no reason to make the story up and I’ve never had a reason to doubt him… It sounds a bit fantastical and some of you will question it, even as I am still curious about precisely how they pulled it off, but suffice it to say that I believe it to be true and the truth is usually more entertaining than something you can make up…
