“While Las Vegas Sleeps…” has always been about stories about Las Vegas, from the very beginning. It always will be. It’s not just about hearsay or conjecture. It’s about personal mileage. The way I live my life, well, I’m something of a student of Hunter S. Thompson’s gonzo journalism philosophy of telling stories: Go where the story is, interact with it on its terms, and become the story.

We’re in the middle of a redesign of the site that I’ve been planning for some time – it has been long-coming, due to my need to remediate myself in the ways of modern web design.

Kickball For Adults Rocks! – Las Vegas Hosts the Founders Cup

I screwed up last year. I slept on an opportunity to join a kickball team with some friends (some of which have since moved out of Vegas, as people tend to do, sometimes.) This year I didn’t hear anything about the league starting up amongst friends so, naturally, I did nothing.

For some, adults playing kickball might seem like a silly diversion from life in Sin City. Well, pfffft to that shit. Kickball was the second best physical education sport in school, second only to Dodgeball.

Anti-Demolition and Renewal – A First in Las Vegas!

Okay, sure, I’m just playing into the general perspective people have about Las Vegas’ architectural heritage (or lack thereof,) but it is true that things tend to get built, used, aged, and torn down around here. It’s nice to see other cities repurposing older buildings for new, more modern uses. We’re definitely an anomaly as far as the primary reason for growth goes and that will, of course, cause things to be developed and redeveloped in rather conspicuous ways, but surely everything need not be demolished entirely, right?
