Guest Column: Nick the Ex-Cabbie – “Downtown Detective Story”
I can hear John Waters on the television in the next room and it seems like a really interesting show…something I’d really like to watch. Unfortunately, right now I’m crouched on the floor of the restroom with my new porcelain friend. How did I end up in this situation? Perhaps I should reexamine my evening and use my detective skills to figure it out.
We start out with a drink at the Griffin. The bartendress pours me an entire shot when I ask to sample “just a tiny bit” of the unusual vodka that I’ve never seen before. This becomes my second drink and we have one more round before leaving. I don’t know if the shot ended up on the tab, but I know it puts me one drink ahead of everyone else in the group. Extra shot, ftw!

Let the Debauchery Begin!
Four score and… okay who am I kidding, in 2006, I started my little Las Vegas blog on Wordpress.com, not realizing at the time that it would be much better to have my own domain and the freedom that comes with it. Not very long after that I moved to my own domain, here on WhileLasVegasSleeps.com, and here we have remained with the same sad, ugly ass blog theme since day 1.1.
I realize I’ve been promising – unfilled promises, yes – that there were changes a-coming to my blog site, complete with a new, branded look, a podcast, video, free booze and all sorts of fun. Well the time is nigh, my friends!

Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Tonight at The Pearl
I’m heading to The Pearl Theater at the Palms tonight to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs perform. It was a present from Nick the Ex-Cabbie and I’m pretty excited.
