Guest Column: Nick the Cabbie – “Pink and Purple”

The two girls in the back seat are dressed almost identically with short little skirts and hats…except one of them is predominantly purple and the other is the Sheriff of Pinktown. And, in case you weren’t aware, things are not okay in Pinktown. There must have been a jailbreak or something, but I think she’d be crying if her Deputy had been killed. Maybe it’s only cattle rustlers…or maybe she’s cold and heartless. It’s difficult to tell sometimes. (They don’t give me enough information to work with so I’m purely speculating, of course. I’m sure you understand.)

Anyway, the purple girl (maybe she’s the Deputy!) keeps trying to convince Ms. Pinkerton that everything, right at this very moment, is perfectly fine. (And if it’s not perfectly fine right now then it will be very, very soon. …Like maybe now.) Some of the details are a little fuzzy, but I clearly heard the final argument that purple pulls out of her boot before they rode off into the Suncoast.

(Okay, fine. You got me. It wasn’t the Suncoast. Can’t you allow me just one tiny bit of artistic freedom?) So…Deputy Purple tries one last time to cheer up the Sheriff, pleading, “C’mon…we have on the same cowboy hats…” She trails off here, clearly not getting through, and makes a final attempt, stressing this last part in a way that stresses just how special (and apparently outside of the norm) their current situation really is, finishing with, “…and we’re both wearing underwear!”

[Editor's note: I'm so fucking confused as to what was really going on with these chicks in this story that I'm actually intrigued!]
