It’s still dark when I pick up the three guys from the Hard Rock Casino, but I can tell that the sun is not far away. They tell me to drive towards the MGM, but it isn’t clear if this will be the actual destination. I discover that they recently met at Body English and have been there drinking and having fun all night.

Curiously, the guy with the thick German accent in the front seat looks like he just got ready to go out…except he decided to put on the clothes from the day before. And “bedraggled” is the best describing term for his two new American friends, but only because I don’t know a word that means dirty, unkempt, frowsy and filled with exhaustion. (I didn’t actually know the word “frowsy” until I searched for a word that meant all of the other things, but it definitely fits.)

When the subject of their destination comes up again the German says, “It’s only five o’clock. What are we going to do now?” I’m sure that the amount of energy it takes to process this statement and reach a conclusion is all it takes to kill one of the Americans right there on the spot, but the other one manages to choke out, “Only?! It’s only five o’clock?” He emphasizes this just like a person raised on a steady diet of sitcoms, but it doesn’t faze the German. “In Europe we party until ten or eleven,” he explains with a heavy accent. “We haven’t even started. Right now we are just relaxing.”
