Las Vegas’ McCarran Airport Now Has Free Wi-Fi

A lot of people have complained over the past couple of years that Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport does not have free Wi-Fi connections for laptops computers, iPods and iPhones, et cetera.  I’ve personally felt a bit nonplussed about these gripes, because while a few airports do offer free Wi-Fi connections, many, many airports around the world charge, and charge through the nose, at that.

Las Vegas is a world class city catering to a very international clientele so it definitely makes sense for them to open up the wi-fi connections to everyone for their use for free.   Well, I’m not sure when it happened, but I’m currently writing from McCarran Airport via the airport’s free wifi system.  Cheers to the powers that be!  It’s just one more little way we can improve the value of Las Vegas to our visitors we love so much (oh my god PLEASE come visit us again soon we’re all going broke… okay not quite, but things are a bit gloomy at the moment.)

Las Vegas Bike Fest

This time each year, soon after the weather has changed and it’s just so damned nice you want to be outside all of the time, Las Vegas Bike Fest hits town and no matter where you go you see an unusual number of bikes on the prowl around town. I’ve never really gone down to the shows to check them out, although I’ve always admired a sexy-looking chopper, myself.

The Las Vegas Bike Fest is apparently a somewhat diffuse event, with different parts of it spread out over town. The event I was most interested in checking out was the custom bike show, which takes place on the Saturday of the event during the day down on Fremont Street. I went out there for an hour or so and took a few photos… Wow, there were some amazing looking bikes. I got a couple of shots of Binion’s old school limo complete with Texas longhorn horns mounted properly on the hood of the car.

Here are the best of the photos I took…
