Did Las Vegas Police Academy Let Out Recently?
Lately Las Vegas has turned into what seems like the damn pull-over capital of the West. I actually did hear that there was a police academy class that graduated recently.
I got pulled over – Liz did, actually, I was in the passenger seat – and this cop that was probably eight or ten years younger than I am asked every invasive, rude question he could think of that was irrelevant to why he claimed he pulled us over – a broken light on her license plate. He asked if either of us had ever been “in trouble,” where we were going, where we were coming from, how we know each other, why our driver’s license numbers are so similar, why our address is 7777 something – sounds fishy – what Liz’s vanity license plate meant??!
We were two free American citizens minding our own business, driving a legal car, and doing nothing wrong. It was ridiculous. When I answered him regarding having been “in trouble” a long, long time ago and that the charges were dropped he asked “how long ago?” I replied “1994.” “Yeah, that is quite awhile ago.” Yeah, pig, when you were in about 6th grade.
So after all this unnecessary, useless, intimidating harassment, he “let’s us go.” So at our next stop we got out to check out the license plate light he pulled us over for. It was working like the day she got it – not a single legitimate reason to pull us over – other than the fact that he wanted to and probably needed “practice” being a pig.
Since that night two weeks or so ago, I have seen an unbelievable rash of what seem like unnecessary stops by Las Vegas Metro – literally pulling people over and then letting them go without a ticket, in a lot of cases. They seem to be picking on smaller subcompact cars, oftentimes Hondas or Toyotas. If you’ve got the least little legal issue in your past I can imagine they’d give you unmitigated hell. This is Las Vegas, baby.. Most people have something in their past. Metro used to be the most laid-back police force in America, really not sweating the small stuff because they see some much crazy crap out here, but as far as I am concerned they are really ruining that reputation.

Oh my fucking god. I swear not more than 10 minutes after I posted this article we had yet another cop follow us around, turn behind us… intimidating us and making us feel harassed. He followed until he felt like a big, tough guy, I guess, then flipped a bitch in the middle of the road and went the other way. This is insane and pissing me off. This is not the way things are meant to be in America.

It’s amazing to me how many spammers and cops with attitudes like to post replies here. It’s always something along the lines of what this creep wrote:
[By the way, sic, sic, sic, sic - this is an exact quote below]
“Oh my fucking god, have you seen aliens too. Your probably driving like a moron, and your light is probably out too. Your the people of bitch and complain about cops, then beg them for help when someones kicking your ass. Go buy some more weed moron, but dont get caught!”
That’s exactly the kind of attitude we no longer need in “law enforcement.” The car in question did *not* have any lights out. It did not have anything whatsoever wrong with it. It was fabricated. Plain and simple. Cops love to think that if someone disagrees with them they are “one of the bad guys.” It’s how they sleep at night and not feel a little bit bad about helping to systematically erode the liberties provided by the U.S. Constitution.
By the way, sad person who obviously can’t even form the most basic of English sentences properly, I feel like I should sue you for hurting my brain with such a poorly conceived “opinion.”
Guess what “Bob” at 1234@gmail.com – great email, by the way – your rude post goes straight to the trash bin as well. Cheers!

Well just imagine, if you were a criminal [not saying you are just hypothetically]. If you got stopped by a cop you’d be thinking “Oh shit” wouldn’t you? I THINK cops are trained to see the difference between a criminal’s reaction and a normal everyday person’s reactions when being asked questions.
…Maybe there was some kind of criminal crime that happened around where you were driving and someone reported it, but he didn’t want to explain it to you, so you two wouldn’t be too worried, just in case the person who reported it was a pranker.

OMG! I don’t live in Las Vegas but the police in Sacramento have been doing the same sh!t. I was 36 weeks pregnant with my son. On my way home from work one night some jerk in a huge black SUV starts to tail me, and I mean really tail me. There was probably three inches in between our cars. Then he turned on his lights and I realized it was an unmarked police car. So I pull over and get all my paperwork out. He comes over as I’m rolling down my window, takes everything and asks me if I’ve been drinking. WTF?! I point to my belly and say “if by drinking you mean water and OJ then yes.” He gets really close to my face and is leaning into my car and says “I didn’t ask for attitude bitch.” He walks back to his car and comes back. Hands me my license and paperwork and says “your light on your license plate is out, get it fixed.” and walked away. Before he did I got his badge number and name. I called and filled a report the next morning. I don’t know what has crawled up the asses of these guys but I think they need to be knocked down a peg or two.
