Playboy Bunnies Are Hopping Again at the Playboy Club Las Vegas
My girlfriend is a happy, satisfied subscriber to Playboy Magazine. Like me, she’s a photographer. Also like me, she’s a fan of naked women. She says she reads it for the articles, though… so who knows? Anyhow, on Friday she received her new issue of Playboy Magazine and was pleasantly surprised to see a cute girl in an old school Playboy Bunny outfit on the cover, complete with ears and a bow tie.
Last fall, almost exactly a year ago, in fact, Playboy and The Palms opened the new Fantasy Tower, complete with the first Playboy Club to open in twenty-five years. As I recall, they had casting calls ongoing for quite awhile with ads in the local papers and magazines. Las Vegas is home to a very high concentration of very, very hot women, so I can imagine that they were able to cull quite a few true beauties to work in the new Playboy Club (the last of the original Playboy Clubs closed in the 80′s, according to the magazine.)
I had wondered last year if Playboy Magazine would get around to putting together a featured pictorial section in the magazine of some of the girls working at the new club. Well, it has finally arrived! There are a full eight pages of pictures and information regarding the Bunnies and the new Club in the issue, which was shot on location in the Playboy Club itself as well as some of the Fantasy Suites in the new tower. There are a few interesting tidbits of information in there that I was not previously aware of, myself, including the fact that the new Playboy Bunny outfits were designed by none other than Roberto Cavalli himself. Nice touch, Hef.
The girls that work in the Playboy Club at the Palms are actually fully trained dealers. Well, some are dealers and some are cocktail waitresses. I remember the magazines advertisements when they were looking to find the girls that read “no experience is necessary” and that they would be trained fully. I guess you can’t be too picky. I don’t think the Playboy Bunny/hot 20-something girl demographic really overlaps a great deal with the Las Vegas blackjack dealer one or the traditional waitstaff one either, for that matter. I like how it’s all turned out, though.
You have to hand it to the Maloofs: they’ve really carved out a significant niche here in Las Vegas and have differentiated themselves with their hotel, casino, nightclubs, and resort in general in a way that really has no rival in Las Vegas. It’s not that their competition could not have easily done the same – it’s just that they didn’t. And thanks again guys for those shrimp. Now if I could just get those Bunnies to start dealing me more naturals….
