Some Changes at Drai’s in Las Vegas
Saturday night we met up with a couple of friends and went out dancing after hours. They’ve made a few changes at Drai’s recently. They’ve added a second area in the back of the club near the back bar that features hip hop. This makes for a much less crowded main dance floor as people tend to circulate more and some stay in the back that would normally be in the front.
The hotel itself, formerly the Barbary Coast, as changed it’s name under new ownership to Bill’s Gambling Hall and Saloon (really went all out on that name, didn’t they?) They’ve changed some signage out but as far as I can tell that’s about all they have changed. I can’t help but think that this is not a long-range plan for Barbary, uh, Bill’s Gambling Hall. You would think that a property on one of the most expensive street corners in the world (Flamingo and the Las Vegas Strip) would get some serious build-out and a world-class boutique hotel and casino (for the size of the property) at least. Way to go, Harrah’s. Hopefully this is temporary and they have bigger, better plans for the next few years.
Later in the morning stops were made at Empire and Seamless. Good crowds, both, and a great time was had by all.
