Thanksgiving Eve in Las Vegas
It wouldn’t be a real Thanksgiving in Las Vegas without an evening dedicated to busting out all of Grandma’s old family recipes and slaving over a hot stove in preparation for the arrival of six or seven wayward club kids, strippers, and party-goers on their way “home” from the after-afterhours club.
I’m spending the holiday week with my nephew. I didn’t post the last couple of days because he flew in from Houston and I took him out to Orange County to Disneyland. He’s a great kid. We also went to Santa Monica and he put his feet in the Pacific Ocean for the first time. Nice having him out here for Turkey week.
Some friends of ours that aren’t making it home for the holiday are coming over tomorrow for our extended family feast. It should be a good time, but I’ve already been warned they’ll be coming in on no sleep. Tonight’s the Judge Jules show at Moon and I can’t make it because the little guy is here, and hey, we’re having fun anyhow! They’ll all be out in force, though, and after Empire and after Seamless, and hopefully after showers all around they’re coming over to eat. Eat. Yeah, right… I bet they pick at their food for an hour before giving up. I see a ton of leftovers in my future….
